We are living in a time when Satan's influence is having an impact in the lives of people who seem to think or believe that there is no life beyond this life after death. Unfortunately, this is true among some who profess to be children of God. They are being pulled away from God because the pleasures of the world, in their minds, have more to offer than staying in the Lord. This is a problem that has been around for decades. But it has become highly prevalent in the Lord's Church. Some Christians are living like they will never die. They are living as if "when you are dead you are done." In the story of the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man lived a life of luxury. He did not acknowledge God in his daily living, but when he died, he lifted up his eyes in a place of torment. He asked for mercy but for him, mercy was to late. The lesson we learn from the story of the rich man and Lazarus; if we are not watchful and, on the lookout, Satan will pull us away from God which could cause us to have no mercy when we stand before Him through Jesus Christ on the day of judgment.
